Connect & Engage with customers on Facebook & Instagram to build trust & loyalty

Creating Facebook and Instagram pages are a great way to establish an online presence for your business.

Your Facebook Page becomes a source of information about your business and can help you build credibility with your audience. For example, you can:

  • Tell your business’s story. Share your business’s unique story and connect with people over shared interests and ideas.

  • Find people. Be found by people where they come to explore and share ideas about the things they care about. By sharing organic content and ads you can reach people and inspire them to take action.

  • Build a community. Over time you can develop relationships and make connections with people. Posting consistently helps you begin conversations with people and helps them think of your business first.

How to create a Facebook Page

Before you get started you will need to either set-up a personal Facebook profile or use an existing profile.  Your profile is completely separate from your business page but every business page must be linked to a personal profile for authentication purposes.

There is a bit of information you will need to collect about your business before setting up the page.  This includes:

Business name

Name a Page after your business or another term that people may search for.

Business category

Select the most relevant and specific category for your business. This will help customers to quickly understand what your business does.

Detailed description and contact information

Use the About section to share key information about your business with people and clearly identify what the business does. A Page should also provide up-to-date contact information.

Once you have your information together and are logged in, go to the “Create” section on the top right corner of your Facebook homepage. From the dropdown, select “Page.”

Select the type of page you want to create. Choose “Business or Brand” for a business page.

Complete the basic information about your business, such as the page name, category, and description. Make sure to use a name that accurately represents your business.

Add in the business information you have collated, add a profile picture, add your business details such as your website, business hours and contact information.  The more information you provide, the easier it is for people to find and connect with your business.

Create a unique username for your page.  This will create a custom URL that makes it easier for people to find your page.

Add a Call-to-Action Button that directs visitors to take specific actions such as contacting your, visiting your website or making a purchase.

Add in a cover photo that accurately depicts your business and some additional details you wish to emphasise.

Upload a profile picture for your business. This is typically your company logo. Make sure the image is clear and fits well in the profile picture space.

Click on the “Settings” tab to customize your page further. Here, you can manage roles and permissions, set up messaging preferences, and adjust other settings.

You are then ready to create your first post.

After setting up your page, create a post to engage your audience. This can be an introduction to your business or any relevant content you want to share.

Ensure you use an image or video that encapsulates your business.

Once you’re satisfied with the setup, click on the “Publish” button to make your page live.

Your Facebook business page is now set up! You can continue to customize it, add more content, and engage with your audience to build a strong online presence.

You can make edits to most content on the page at any time, from editing the cover and profile pictures to contact information and other content on the Page at any time
